I’ve never been a fan of lashes, and I’ve always been a fan of regular lash extensions myself. It’s really nice to wake up in the morning and not have to mess around with mascara and other cosmetics, but to see a normal person in the mirror.
I started wearing eyelash extensions towards the end of 2019. As I was living in a city at the time where 6/7 technicians were doing lashes, at least there was some choice, but as a regular customer I couldn’t judge the quality of the technicians. Over the years, however, it was necessary to change technicians, and for various reasons. The first lash technician moved out of town.
The second in line, lash technician B, in whose hands I entrusted my delicate eyes, turned out to be a complete nightmare. Young and naive, I naturally believed it was me and my eyeshadow, which somehow made my eyes swollen and red circles around them for a week exactly after the treatment. I walked around like a red-eyed panda.
When one moment this technician and his lashes were thrown to the pits, I knocked on the door of the next one, lash technician C. Luckily, the next technician, upon looking at the work, immediately realised that it wasn’t okay to have glue on my eyes. He then did my removal and fitted new lash extensions, and all those previous worries disappeared.
In the meantime, I also took a training course in eyelash technique, rented a space and soon started applying lashes full time. The work was pleasant, the customers were nice, but as a new technician I couldn’t ask for €50 for maintenance, like the lash technician who could do glue lids instead of pretty fans. The service was actually quite small and so I started looking for cheaper solutions to beautify my eyes.
In January 2023, I got my hands on cluster lashes and soon realised that wearing ordinary lash extensions was for the rich and stupid. At the same time as I was applying my own lash extensions, I was wearing cluster lashes on my own eyes. I told my own clients about them, but they weren’t swayed by this cheap solution, they always came back to my door. I think it still seems too complicated for them, although it’s not really at all.
In the autumn of 2023, I threw away the tweezers and gel pads because I just didn’t want to do the job of a lash technician anymore. I took a new job, but we all like the extra money. That’s why I started to analyse our market and realised that we don’t have normal cluster lashes in Estonia at normal prices. That’s why I found the opportunity to launch a new product, where I have been able to apply my own knowledge as an eyelash technician and create the best and most convenient alternative to regular eyelash extensions for our customers. More money for me, and more money for my customers, who no longer have to spend exorbitant sums on lash extensions.
It’s very difficult to find a lash technician who really puts their heart into their work and cares about their client’s eyes. I remember a time when a new client came to me who had the work of this very same lash technician, C, who identified this horrible thing in my eyes that was making my eyes crinkle. I had to weep with sadness, because I guess lash technician C didn’t turn out to be the lash technician of my dreams either.
As an ordinary person, it’s very difficult to judge the work of your lash technician. It is also very difficult to estimate when technicians charge €60-70 for maintenance. From personal experience, I can say that price does not determine quality. To preserve your looks and keep your precious lashes, the safest solution is probably to use cluster lashes.
Our website also has adhesive, fixative and remover. The eyelashes will last for 5-7 days, if not more. The lashes are tight all the time, so you don’t get that situation where you’re 3 weeks out from your treatment and your lashes are practically gone. Lengths and styles are up to you because you just have the power.
Maybe today could be the day you say hello to your lash technician and try Afterglow lashes instead. I dare say you won’t regret it 🙂 🙂 You’ll love it.
